June 2025
Educate, empower, sustain - the guiding words of this project. During this trip, all delegations met for the first time to plan the work ahead and to exchange knowledge and culture. Four teachers from each country participated as representatives, and the teams from Spain, Turkey, Sweden, France (Martinique), and Italy finally met in person for the very first time.

Our first project meeting- introductions and school presentations
Today marked the official start of our collaboration. It was our first opportunity to meet as a full group, get to know one another, and gain insight into the different school environments represented in this project. We began by introducing ourselves and our subjects, and a few countries even exchanged small gifts, a warm and welcoming touch. After that, each delegation presented their school, giving us a clearer picture of the diverse backgrounds and experiences we are bringing together.
In the afternoon, we met up with Ethan, an economics student from the local university. He guided us through the city and showed us the Cathedral of Granada, explaining the different historical layers, the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim sections. It was a beautiful and insightful way to end the day and start getting to know the cultural heart of Granada.

Project coordination and cultural discoveries
The morning began with a meeting for all project coordinators, where each country received further information about the project structure, the timeline, and the upcoming tasks we will be working on together. It was a helpful opportunity to clarify responsibilities and make sure we are all aligned as we move forward.
Alongside this, a logo workshop took place, where students from each delegations had explored ideas and created different proposals for our official project logo. Tomorrow we will gather again to vote on the final design, a fun and engaging way to involve everyone in shaping the project’s identity.
In the afternoon, we set out for our cultural activity: a visit to Abadía del Sacromonte, beautifully located in the hills of Granada. The walk up offered wonderful views over the city, and even though it was a bit of a climb, the scenery made it completely worth it. The visit allowed us to discover an important cultural landmark but also sharing impressions, taking photos, and enjoying the surroundings. A lovely and enriching way to end the day.

Training Day: Exploring the Sustainable Development Goals
Today’s session focused on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), 17 global targets set in 2015 to be achieved by 2030. For the first time, all UN countries agreed on a shared set of goals, highlighting that many challenges, from poverty to climate change, are universal.
We explored the goals, which include key areas like no poverty, quality education, gender equality, clean energy, climate action, and peace and justice, and discussed the obstacles that make progress difficult: financial limits, policy challenges, armed conflicts, and the need for global cooperation. Currently, only 15% of the goals are on track, while many are stagnating or even reversing.
To balance the reality check, we watched a TED Talk by Michael Green, who introduced the Social Progress Index, emphasizing that economic growth alone isn’t enough. True progress comes from prioritizing social well-being, equality, and quality of life alongside economic development.
As a practical follow-up, each country group started designing a campaign or toolkit to raise awareness about social issues most relevant to their schools and communities. Each delegation selected SDGs that resonate locally and began planning ways to implement them.
In the afternoon, we had the chance to experience one of Spain’s most iconic cultural traditions: a flamenco performance. The music, singing, and dancing were full of passion and energy, it was impossible not to be drawn into the rhythm and emotion of the performance. It was a wonderful way to immerse ourselves in local culture, appreciate the artistry behind flamenco, and enjoy a lively, shared experience with the group.

Today was spent at the Alhambra, one of Granada’s most magnificent landmarks. The palaces, gardens, and courtyards showcase centuries of history and cultural heritage. The visit highlighted that sustainability extends beyond the environment. Preserving historical sites like the Alhambra ensures that future generations can experience, learn from, and be inspired by cultural achievements. Protecting history and traditions is an essential part of building a sustainable future.
In the evening, all delegations came together and took the commuter train to a large gallery to enjoy Asian cuisine at a splendid buffet. The dinner is a tradition during all Erasmus+ mobilities, ensuring that at least one evening is spent together. It offered a relaxed atmosphere for conversation, cultural exchange, and enjoying food as a group after a full day of activities.

On the last day, all delegations visited Seville. Each group explored the city independently, discovering its rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant streets. The day was exceptionally hot, reaching 40 degrees, but it didn’t stop anyone from enjoying the sights and soaking in the atmosphere of this remarkable city.
